The YouthBuild Program in Forest Park, GA is a 12-18 month education/construction/leadership development program geared to training young adults from ages 18 to 24 to be successful in the workplace. YouthBuild has partnerships with Forest Park Street School and Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity which provide education and job-skills training to our trainees.

Information Sheet
We are currently accepting Applications for the YouthBuild program of Prevention PLUS, Inc. for the program year 2010 – 2011. The program will operate from approximately August, 2010 through May, 2011.
Qualifications:
· Age 18 through 24.
· Preference given (though not required) to ‘out of school’ applicants.
· Preference given (though not required) to residents of Clayton County.
· Preference given (though not required) to low income applicants.
· Must be Drug Free to participate in the program.
· Must demonstrate a desire to obtain a fully accredited High School Diploma or GED.
· Willing to complete a rigorous course of training in Construction and participate in the construction and or renovation of affordable housing.
Program Goals & Outcome Details:
· Earn high school Diploma (SACS accredited) or GED.
· NCCER or PACT Construction Training Certifications.
· Leadership Certifications.
· Community Involvement / Participation hours.
· Field Construction Experience with Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity & others.
· Post Program Placement in a career position, post secondary education or military.
· All participants will receive a stipend while participating in the program. Additional scholarships, cash awards, and incentive bonuses are also paid.

a. Most current high school transcript (contact your current or last school to obtain)
b. Copy of Birth certificate
c. Social Security Card
d. Immunization records
e. Withdrawal form from last school
f. Records from GED testing
