Prevention PLUS, Inc.  is a twenty-five year old community-based 501(c)3 organization that provides a wide range of educational and vocational services and programs to high-risk youth in Clayton, Fayette and Henry Counties. Fully integrated into all of our programs is a focus on postsecondary education and career preparedness.

HISTORY
In 1999, many of the youth who were part of the original Insiders Teen Center program were looking for other options through which they could complete their education. An educational program was formed and registered through the Home School division of Clayton County Public Schools. In 2001, Forest Park Street School was officially established.  In 2002, the school achieved full accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Independent Study, allowing Forest Park Street School students to be eligible for the HOPE scholarship. In 2005, the school achieved full accreditation through the Georgia Accrediting Commission and in 2007, full accreditation through SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).  In 2007, Prevention PLUS began providing credit recovery to Clayton County Public School students to help them complete missing credits needed for graduation. The organization also established a dual credit/joint enrollment program with Atlanta Technical College, Clayton State University and Atlanta Metropolitan College.
